Jennifer has a master's in sociology, she is a master certified coach, speaker, best-selling author. In the last 15 years, she’s mentored and trained more than 2000 coaches and addressed 250,000 people around the world - and today we're chatting with her specifically about the life (or personal) coaching modality.
How is it different to teaching, consulting, advising, etc?
And how can it be used in a powerful way to reshape futures?
It’s real honour to have Jennifer here with us as she shares her wisdom and insight on the coaching space. Jennifer is making an impact in the coaching space not only in the USA but around the world. Australian business and education is still catching up to benefits of personal coaching but we're definitely getting there and I hope that this interview will make a positive contribution o that conversation.

Let’s get into the podcast…
Podcast highlights:
[2:26] A professional coach who works with individuals is someone who uses deep listening and powerful inquiry to extract from the client their own answers primarily, but more importantly obstacles, fears, and limiting beliefs that are getting in the way of them being at their full potential.
[3:22] It really is the client doing all the work and the coach is just co-creating a new awareness for and with that client.
[6:40] Commanding control style leadership is a thing of the past in the US and coaching has really stepped into the forefront that most large organizations are outsourcing their coaching.
[7:13] My brand of coaching: Very holistic. It's all about life as you know it. I believe if the person can get out of his or her own way, understand the fear or the limiting belief that is keeping them from being their best self, then they can show up better not only for their family and themselves but for their professional role.
[8:55] One of the things I'm most proud of is I'm extremely picky about how I use my time. I don't like to do things that I don't like to do. Because I'm my own business, we get to choose the things that we want to do most and those that bring out our greatest strength.
[10:23] Mark and I are so connected at that level that we almost can't stop reflecting on the things we do. It's so self-reflective, it's constant. But sometimes I just wish I could just live without always questioning. When there's so much self-reflection, it can become a little distracting.
[12:32] I'm never on time. But what I like is the ability to get in the zone to get something done. I’m also a massive multitasker. My husband is the opposite. He can chew gum and walk.
[13:37] Traveling around the world is the best gift you can give to yourself because it gives you a perspective. It keeps us appreciative and grounded on what's important. It’s a wonderful reminder of what we do have, where we live and is very educational. The best way to educate yourself is to see the world.
[16:32] Defining Success: There are as many definitions of success as there are people on earth. For me, if I am spending the majority of minutes each day doing something that pleases me and serves others, I'm good. What I love about being an entrepreneur is being able to do what I love and in service to others.
[18:02] Life is a dance that we sort of constantly go back and forth between those. If we made it, then we would stop growing. Life has that tendency to just keep us on our toes and keep us moving.
